OMG. . .In So Many Ways

Lent: Both/And

Flickers of Light in the Wilderness

Not even sure how to start. Or write a middle and ending, for that matter. I will try.

Lent: wilderness, reflect, renounce, regain. Enter a time to take away. Or add.

This year is not the same. Holding my hands out in both/and.

Sadness and happiness. Darkness and light. Judgement and empathy. Tears and joy.

OMG... what is this all about? Can wilderness be like that? Both/and.

Sometimes I wonder if the Holy Spirit is present? Why these contradictions?

Life is not without pain. Disappointments. Loneliness.

And yet. . yet. . .this is a different wilderness. There is color. Light.

Companions walking alongside.

Not what I expected. This Lent of both/and.

But then, as a friend said to me, "God shows up in weird ways"

Yup. Lent. Both/And

Definitely weird this year! I think I like a weird Lent.
