Holy Week

This week is unbearable, and yet we bear it. If you’ve ever felt your faith unravel—if what once felt solid now feels like sand—this is the week to sit in the wilderness. To grieve what no longer fits. To wonder if there’s still a place for you here. Kate Bowler
OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . .she gets me. How does she know my wilderness?
Wilderness. Sit in the wilderness. On shifting sand. Nope. Not feeling too solid anymore. So certain. Having all the answers.
OMG. . .In So Many Ways. Still the questions. Still the doubts. Unravelling. The old wine skin cannot hold this new wine.
I lay awake. Where are you God? Is there a place for me here? Are you sure you didn’t walk on ahead of me? Leave me behind? Because what I used to believe, I no longer believe.
A new realization. Confirmation from others, not necessary. Only a sense of God’s presence. And at this age!
OMG. . .In So Many Ways. Holy Week. It has come to say . . .for me. . .God is a God of unimaginable love, mercy, compassion and grace. This God. . .for me. . .did not have to sentence Jesus to a terrible death on the cross. How could a God of love do that? But this God. . .for me. . .was with Jesus in the suffering. As He is with all of us.
OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . .might be sandy. Perhaps hold onto parts of the old. Not with hands that clutch. But with fingers loose enough to let go. Welcome the new.
May Easter bring you joy, love, compassion and hope. No matter where your wilderness journey has taken you. I just have this feeling you’ve not been alone.
To question. To reflect. To shed. To embrace.
It's the metamorphosis of life and necessary to live a life of compassion and understanding.
When we quit questioning... when we quit challenging our own beliefs... when we quit listening and learning... we're done.
Sand can be shaped and reshaped into anything we dream... it's made up of a million particles of glass, shells and rocks that have been here since the beginning of time. Embrace the sand!
