Blessings All Around

Lent and Easter have been different this year.

No preset plans.  Disciplines.  Walk through the wilderness.

OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . .Different.

And I find it difficult to put words to paper.  Thoughts just keep swirling.  How do I explain?

Does that ever happen to you?

OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . . How do I explain God?

Maybe that’s the point.  I can’t explain God.  God keeps me guessing.  I’m quite the rule follower.  Want to have explicit directions from God.  This is good.  That is bad.  There are set outcomes for each.  Not so much.  Perhaps that is what the swirling is all about.

In hindsight, I see the connections during this Lenten Season.  Starting with my mother channeling at the Quiet Morning, a talk with my Pastor, unexpected invitations, reading meditations that seemed to speak directly to me. And a text from a friend that included the words “Blessings All Around”.

OMG. . .In So Many Ways. . . Blessings swirling all around me.  Life giving its blessings all around me.

And sometimes the blessings were me just looking at a situation through a new lens.  Or me keeping my mouth shut until the right words could be spoken.

The blessing was  the same as it always has been.

As these words from the song “The Blessing” say:

May His presence go before you

And behind you, and beside you

All around you, and within you

He is with you, He is with you

Only this time I let go of my firm grip and let God be God.  I mean how can events of our life swirl if we’re holding on with a tight fist?  How can God produce His miracles if  we think WE have it all figured out?  Nope. Can’t figure out God.   Only that His love is non-stop. . . always.  Swirling around.

OMG. . .In So Many Ways.  I’m glad Lent was different this year!   Blessings All Around.
